TNI – POLRI Forbid To Join Campaign

(Jakarta, 26/2) – The Member of Special Committee (Pansus) of Election Law Construction (RUU), Syaifullah Maksum, said that the Indonesia’s National Armies (TNI) and Indonesia’s Police Department (Polri) could not become the campaign participant, even as executor, official, and participant.

“Even the sections that manage those forbid was made based on the join agreement between Special Committee (Pansus) of Election Law (RUU Pemilu) and the leader of TNI – Polri,” explain the member of Kebangkitan Bangsa Faction (FKB) in the House of People Representative Council (DPR), Jakarta.

For the Civil State Employee (PNS), Syaifullah add, they allow to participate in the campaign if they don’t use their uniform. “If PNS can, but TNI – Polri couldn’t because they don’t have the vote right. Actually used to be TNI – Polri has already given opportunities to involve with the political campaign, but they agree to refuse it,” Syaifullah revealed it. (Adi/teks.Nurseffi/Trans.Devi)
