If DPR Refuse, President Must Propose A New BI Governor’s Candidate

(Jakarta, 18/2) – The member of commission XI Drajad Wibowo said if the names of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor’s candidate that proposed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Friday (15/2), refuse by the Peoples Representative Council (DPR) so based on the BI Law section 41, President must proposes new candidates.

“So there will be no old candidate that re-candidacy. If it is refuse again, so the president must promote the old BI Governor’s to take hold the position. Another steps is president could promote the Senior Governor’s Deputy with conditional the DPR is agree with that,” explained Drajad to the journalist in DPR building, Jakarta.

About the decisions whether it will be accepted or not the candidates from president, Drajad did not want give many comments. “Now it is how the constellation of the factions. But from the Amanat Nasional Party Faction there is still no decision. But we will see from the result of fit and proper test that at the latest will be held on the next March 15th,” He declared. (Bali) – Vice President Jusuf Kalla declare that the candidate of Bank Indonesia (BI) not necessarily come from people inside those central bank. “Since long time ago not most of the governor of BI came from internal.
