Indonesian Citizens In Timor Leste Are Safe

(Jakarta) – The attack of the rebel with Mayor Alfredo as the head against President Jose Ramos Horta that happened in Timor Leste is pure internal problem of Timor Leste country.

“No one accuse Indonesia involved with the attack that happened in Timor Leste, what happened there is pure internal problem. We only anticipate, helping continuously to secure the border that has already safe for all this time. Not an extraordinary effort,” said International Affairs Minister, Hassan Wirajuda in the International Affair Department, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/2)

The bilateral relationship between two countries, explains the International Affairs Minister, still goes well, for example optimize the works of Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (KKR). Next Month the works result of KKR has already in schedules to be already finished and will report to both countries.

“We still try to build bilateral relationship that reconcile to the burden of our past history. Intimacy contact is still on going with the leader of Timor Leste. We are appreciating the presence of Xanana Gusmao as a positive gesture in the name Timor Leste leader’s and people’s in the KKR,” explain International Affairs Minister.

When he was asked about the condition of Indonesians citizens (WNI) who’s stayed in Timor Leste, The International Affairs Minister affirm that their conditions are fine.

“Indonesian citizens in Timor Leste until today are secure enough and peaceful. There is nothing to worries. Last night our corporate lawyer came out and see the neighborhood and talk to the people,” said International Affair Minister. (Adi/teks.Mimie/trans.Devi)
