It Doesn’t Matter Whether BI Governor Candidates Not From Internal Society

(Jakarta) – Economical Expert Center for Information and Development Studies (CIDES) Lutfi Alkatiri doesn’t mattering that the both candidates of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor which president has propose was not from internal society of Bank Indonesia.

“Is not a problem from outside or inside BI, because the former Governor was also come from the external of BI. But the most important is the knowledge about macro economics and monetary. Agus and Pardede indeed have competencies in banking, so the decisions left with DPR. But I think, that DPR still doubt is the knowledge of macro economics and monetary from both of them.” he said it when contacted by indonesianow in Jakarta, Monday (18/2).

But, Lutfi add it, these thing doesn’t become matter because BI inside has collectively in chief. There is also the Governor Board that had experiences in macro economics and monetary.” So the decisions that BI will take later on will also the collective decisions, not the decisions of BI Governor personally.”

Related with the refinements of both two candidates by the member of DPR, Lutfi said that DPR Act’s was only a form of surprisingly.” DPR it self has already had 3-4 names comes from BI internal,” he said. But he predicted that DPR will accept one of the candidates that the president has already proposed. (Nurseffi/Teks.Adi/Trans.Devi)
