Indonesia Has Surplus Trade with Australia

(Jakarta) – Indonesia today is enjoying the goods trade surplus with Australia until 135 million US dollar. The Total Trade of two directions between Indonesia and Australia on the fiscal years of 2006-2007 in the amount of 10, 4 Billion US dollar.

Indonesia’s main export to Australia is crude oil, gold-non monetary, traveling agent, paper and paper products, simple caprice timber. In the other side the main import from Australia are Wheat, crude oil, traveling agent, aluminum, livestock, and cottons.

On the year of 2008, Indonesia and Australia will increase trade in the trade sector. According to the Australian Ambassador in Indonesia, Bill Farmer, the mining relations between Indonesia and Australia is more than selling product.
”The Australian company shows a great interest on Indonesia’s economical, including to the mutual importance in the mining sector of both countries,” he said in his offices in Australian Embassy, Jakarta, Monday (18/2).

In their press release, Australian Embassy in Indonesia also said that this time Australian Corporations still observe the impact of mining law to the mining relationship for countries, especially related to decentralization, fiscal and land, corporations and government role in the environment and social responsibilities.
