Kejagung Stops Investigation on BLBI I and II

(Jakarta, 29/2) – The Supreme Court (Kejagung) decided to stop investigation of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Fund (BLBI) case over Bank Central Asia (BCA) and BLBI II of Indonesia’s State Merchant Bank (BDNI).

“We don’t found acts that go against the law and corruption, so the team that consists of 35 prosecutors is officially dismiss,” said the Head of Law Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Kejagung, Kemas Yahya Rahman, at Kejagung building, Jakarta.

According Kejagung investigation, the value counting by appraisal team to BCA and BDNI was right. “But because the appraisal team only given one moth by National Banking Recapitalization Agency (BPPN) and Government, so they only check the formal documents,” he said.

Kemas admitted there were decreasing of BCA assets values from 52 trillion rupiah to 19 trillion rupiah and BDNI assets from 1, 3 trillion into minus 42, 6 trillion. Therefore Kejagung will give the authority investigation to finances Minister (Menkeu). (Adi/teks.nurseffi/Trans.Devi)
